Impressive Monument Honors Fallen Soldiers

The British Normandy Memorial, a poignant tribute to the servicemen and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the D-Day landings, was unveiled on June 6, 2021, the 77th anniversary of the historic event. Located near the village of Ver-sur-Mer, the memorial overlooks Gold Beach, one of the two beaches where British troops landed on that fateful day.

This remarkable memorial is the culmination of the vision of Normandy Veteran George Batts. Inscribed with the names of the 22,442 fallen soldiers under British command, the memorial serves as an eternal reminder of their bravery and sacrifice. The monument stands as a symbol of remembrance and a testament to the enduring legacy of the D-Day landings.
